7. Denver Broncos (3)
The Denver Broncos have earned three Super Bowl victories. One of the best quarterbacks of all time*John Elway, spent his entire career with the Broncos.
Elway retired with 51,475 passing yards passing, 300 touchdowns, and he earned back-to-back Super Bowls in the 1997 and 1998 seasons for the Broncos.
Peyton Manning scored the most touchdowns in a season* in Denver during the 2013 season and won Super Bowl 50 in his fourth Super Bowl appearance in the 2015 season.
7. Kansas City Chiefs (3)
The Kansas City Chiefs won their first Super Bowl in the 1969 season after upsetting the heavily fancied Minnesota Vikings 23-7.
Ever since Patrick Mahomes was drafted in 2017 by Kansas City, the Chiefs have gone to another level and have won two more Super Bowls during the 2019 and 2022 seasons. That takes their total Super Bowl wins to three.
7. Washington Football Team (3)
Washington may have changed the name of their football team to the Commanders but under the Redskins name they won three Super Bowl championships.
The franchise won Super Bowls during the 1982, 1987 and 1991 seasons under head coach Joe Gibbs, and he did it with quarterbacks Joe Theismann, Doug Williams and Mark Rypien.
7. Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders (3)
The Raiders have won three Super Bowl championships, first under legendary coach John Madden during the 1976 NFL season. They did it again under Tom Flores in 1980 and 1983.
Las Vegas is now home to the nomadic Raiders, with the first two championships won with the franchise in Oakland, and the third following relocation to Los Angeles.
5. Green Bay Packers (4)
The Green Bay Packers have a rich tradition and have clinched the Super Bowl title on four separate occasions. Led by the legendary Vince Lombardi, the Packers won their first two Super Bowls during the 1966 and 1967 seasons.
In the 1996 season the Packers added a third with Brett Favre at quarterback, and their fourth Super Bowl victory would follow in the 2010 season with Aaron Rodgers earning Super Bowl XLV MVP honors.
5. New York Giants (4)
The New York Giants, along with the Packers, have also won four Super Bowl titles. Their first championship was in 1986 under head coach Bill Parcells.
In Super Bowl XXV, Buffalo Bills placekicker Scott Norwood missed a last-second field goal attempt to win the game leading to another Giants’ Super Bowl victory.
The Giants became only the fifth wild card team to win a championship with Eli Manning helping to cause one of the biggest upsets in history, defeating the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII on the back of David Tyree’s helmet catch.
They also added a fourth, defeating the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI despite finishing the season with a 9-7 record, the lowest win percentage by any championship team.
3. San Francisco 49ers (5)
A dominant force throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, the San Francisco 49ers are joint third for the most Super Bowl wins with five.
On the back of head coach Bill Walsh and quarterback Joe Montana, the 49ers dominated the league with a West Coast offensive scheme, winning Super Bowls that decided the 1981, 1984 and 1988 season champions.
Walsh’s assistant coach George Seifert then became the new head coach and added another two championships.
The first came in his rookie head coach year winning Super Bowl XXIV with Montana, and followed it up with Super Bowl XXIX with Steve Young under center.
3. Dallas Cowboys (5)
The Dallas Cowboys are one of the most popular NFL teams and are joint-third on the list of most Super Bowl wins. Cowboys players were among the most recognisable because of how often they appeared on TV during the 1970s and became known as “America’s Team”.
Troy Aikman won won Super Bowl XXVII, XXVIII and XXX in his 12 seasons at the Cowboys, surpassing Roger Staubach’s two Super Bowls won which decided the 1971 and 1977 champions.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are joint owners of the record of the most Super Bowl wins, tied with the New England Patriots with six championships.
A decade of dominance and a Steelers dynasty emerged during the 1970s on the back of the “Steel Curtain” defensive line which saw Pittsburgh win an incredible four Super Bowls in six years.
With Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers made three Super Bowl appearances during his 18-season career and won two Super Bowls, XL and XLIII.
1. New England Patriots (6)
Alongside the Steelers, the New England Patriots have the most Super Bowl wins, winning the championship a record six times in an 18-year period.
A nearly two-decade dynasty was one of the most dominant in American sports history and the legendary combination between quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick is unlikely to ever be repeated.
New England’s first Super Bowl victory was following the 2001 NFL season, followed by, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016, and Super Bowl LIII at the conclusion of the 2018 season.
